Based on the EU service directive MiFID, the new Securities Supervision Act (Wertpapieraufsichtsgesetz, WAG) entered into force in Austria as of 3th January 2018. The new WAG fundamentally pursued the following objectives:
- Improved protection for small investors
- Harmonisation of the European financial market
- Uniform competitive conditions in the EU
The new regulations establish principles which guarantee transparency in the financial markets and high-quality consulting – principles which SIGMA Investment AG has been living successfully for many years.
